You know we are all over Jones if you are a regular and he gets to face a top three team in strikeouts today with the Bucos desperate for a win. The Rockies strikeout 10 times a game and Jones is among league leaders in strikeouts. He's good for 7 a game but I think he goes a tick over today in a spot where the skipper will probably give him a long leash since his pen stinks and this kid is built up enough now to hit 100 pitches if need be. If he's on - and I expect him to be on - they will let him cook. Plenty of chase in this Rockies lineup

No one is confusing Austin Gomber as a high end starting pitcher. However he is one of the Rockies best starters and he does eat up innings. He is facing a Pirates lineup that is frankly not very good and he has a good shot to start the 6th as long as he doesn't get lit up.
